In October we take an afternoon and members of our organization make soups and other goodies from the Czech lands for you to taste. We usually have various musical entertainment or dancers to enhance your experience.
Every year we host a festival that allows everyone to experience many aspects of the Czech culture. At our Springfest you can enjoy Czech foods, music, dancing, and crafts. We always have a variety of vendors at our Springfest as well as a special guest artist from the Czech Republic. The Springfest is held annually on the Sunday after Easter.
If you want to have fun and learn how to better speak the Czech language then you should come to the CHSHCC Library on Monday nights. We have beginner and advanced classes that begin at 7PM. Classes are on-going and can be joined at anytime. The only prerequisite for the classes is an interest in the Czech language and culture. Classes are free and the materials are provided by the organization. If you have questions about the Czech language classes contact the CHSHCC library at 713-349-0500 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Movies produced in the Czech Republic are shown throughout the year at our library located at 4030 Willowbend Blvd. They are shown on the last Wednesdays of the month in January, February, March, April, May, August, September, and October. The movies begin at 7 PM.

On a Saturday in either June or July each year we host a Genealogy Workshop. In the morning segment we have guest speakers update us on different ways of finding out more about our ancestors. The afternoon is spent using what we learned in the morning to perform hands-on genealogical research. This free workshop is held at our library at 4030 Willowbend Blvd.
